Mechanical Subsystem Engineer
Job Location: Tullytown, PA. (Mid-Atlantic Region)
Category: Full Time with optional (available) overtime
Job Start Date: Immediately
Responsibilities / Duties:
- • Perform mechanical subsystem engineering throughout the full lifecycles of product including design, development, testing, manufacturing and product support
- • Move new designs from concept, through prototype, and into production.
- • Troubleshoot issues on prototype and production assemblies on an aggressive production schedule.
- • Participate in design reviews to improve design for manufacturability, procurement cost, and quality control.
- • Perform manufacturing assessments of new designs and drive optimization of designs for manufacturability and cost
- • Develop an expertise on the manufacturing of our niche equipment
- • Perform a hands-on engineering and liaison role between design engineering and production
- • Create comprehensive engineering documentation necessary for the transition from prototype to production including both written and visual work instructions
- • Developing production procedures/processes.
- • Resource management, planning, coordinating and interfacing with in-house developed Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- • Resolving manufacturing discrepancies and interfacing with the quality team.
Required Qualifications:
- • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Production Engineering all OK) or similar technical area of study
- • Demonstrated ability to tackle production and fabrication projects with little or no supervision
- • Have an ongoing drive for continuous improvement in all aspects of work.
- • Knowledge of metallic or composite manufacturing techniques, processes, equipment, and other processes such as: machining, welding, sheet metal forming, tube bending and stamping
- • Capable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
- • Experience working as the only engineer, on a small team including sales, technicians manufacturing, and machinists
- • Strong work ethic and self-starter
- • Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
- • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments, lead teams, and have large responsibilities,
- • Experience with Design for Manufacture and Assembly
- • Experience in a team oriented environment,
- • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCad and MasterCam is desired.
- • Understanding of test methods
- • Solid understanding of common manufacturing processes and machines, including mills, lathes, manual and CNC.
Perferred Qualifications:
- • Hands-on experience with machining is a strong plus
- • Hands on or solid understanding of different weld processes with various materials including tig, mig, stick, and orbital tube a strong plus
- • Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
